The saga of our corner continues.

In spite of all the rain they have set about constructing the drain either side of the road in front of our Hotel. I suppose the actual drain under the road will be built when the drain either side is finished. Obviously they will close off the road for a few days and work like mad!

These pictures taken this morning are of just below our corner as they set about pouring the concrete top to the drain. It does not take the men very long to set the wooden frames in place, drop in the reinforced steel sections and then wheelbarrow the wet concrete down the hill. This section must be far easier than others because the barrows are empty when they go back up the hill! You can guarantee they will have dismantled the wooden framework within a day or so and moved further down the hill to reassemble all the wood work and be ready for another pour.
A few pictorial reminders…

The corner looked like this five weeks ago just after another heavy downpour.

Three weeks ago we were faced with this.

And only two weeks ago this was the situation.
As for the situation above the corner, well nothing in the way of construction has taken place. Correction, they have been continually shifting rock and dirt from the proposed drain site after each downpour. I would think that they have reached the desired depth required for the drain; all they now need to do is pour the base and the sides.

Some of the workers seem to be very lucky people, their wheelbarrows are driven back to the concrete mixer!
Finally, one thing is certain regarding these workmen, they go flat out all day. They do not seem to be afraid of hard, manual work.
