Moray.

Moray is the actual place where the Incas established their agricultural laboratories.

The natural valley is about one hundred and fifty meters deep and within this area they constructed circular and semicircular terraces. These terraces are between two and three meters high. Because of their design they were able to study the growth of various crops under different climatic conditions.

The actual temperature varied according to the direction the terrace faced as well as its actual height.
The entire area was actually quite protected from the wind, this also contributed to the growth factor.

As you can see they are presently undergoing an extensive restoration project. Our guide also mentioned that in recent years they have planted a number of crops in order to study quality and quantity; some of these crops were maize, or corn, a variety of potatoes as well as many fodder crops.

The entire area was amazing, especially when standing on the edge and looking below to the terraces.
